BEEEEEP! BEEEEEP! BEEEEEP! As soon as Oscar heard Mom's alarm clock go off he hopped out of his bed. STRRRREEEEEEEETCH! YAAAAAAWWWNNN! Oscar was still really really sleepy but he knew that he had better be ready to go as soon as everybody left. He didn't want to be late for the contest!
RUUUMMMMBLE....SQUEAAAKKK......CLANK! Oscar finally heard the garage door shut. "Whew! I didn't think they were ever going to leave this morning! Now I have to really rush!" Oscar grumbled as he ran toward the couch were he had hid his magic kit and his disguise.
He grabbed his disguise out from under the couch and ran off toward Mom and Dad's bathroom to get ready. Oscar began putting on his disguise. He put on a big black top hat for the hat trick, a pair of bright red pants and a bright red shirt, and a long and flowing silk black cape, and even a pair of super shiny shoes from Ryan's Shoe Shack. He had quite a disguise!
"OH NO!" Oscar looked up at the clock. "I am going to miss my bus!" He grabbed his magic kit and ran out of the house and down the street toward the bus stop. He got there just as the bus was pulling up. The driver opened the doors and Oscar ran up the steps on all fours with his tongue hanging out! The passengers were surprised to see such an unusual rider.
Finally Oscar made it to the Magic Apple Theater. In the main lobby, there hung a crystal chandelier, colorful wall tiles and other wonderful things. "WOW! Look at this place!" There were so many things to look at....and they even had a water fountain! When he saw the fountain he ran over and started DRINKING! SLURP! SLURP! SLURP! "BUUUURRRP!" Oscar couldn't help himself...he is a dog after all. After he had drank all the water he could he headed toward the back of the stage to wait his turn.
He sat on a bench backstage and watched the other contestants do their magic tricks. "Boy...these guys are really good!" He thought. He was starting to get a little nervous. Then he heard..."INTRODUCING OSCAR FIDO THE MAGNIFICENT..." He took a big breath and ran on stage....
