One day Oscar decided to sneak to school with Madeline. He wanted to see what school was all about and why Madeline had to go almost every day! He waited and listened until he heard the garage door close. Then he knew that Mom and Madeline were finally gone. He ran upstairs to his box of disguises. "Mmmm. What should I wear for my first day at school?"
He thought out loud. Once he made his choice he quickly got dressed. He put on a pair of jeans and a green striped t-shirt. Then he put on a pair of sneakers and grabbed one of Madeline's old backpacks. Inside it he put some books, a few pencils, some blank notebooks and lot of dog treats. He was checking his disguise in the mirror when he saw the clock. "AAAAHHHH! I have to hurry or I'm going to miss my bus!"
He ran out the door and down the street to catch the school bus. Once he was on the bus he walked to the back and sat down. "WHEW! That was close. My whole adventure would have been ruined!" After what seemed like a really long ride he finally made it to the school. He walked all the way down the hall until he found Room 409 Mrs. J's class. He went inside and found a seat.
"OK class time for math!" Mrs. J called to the class. " Today we will learn about different triangles." "OOOH! OOOH! CAN I DRAW A TRIANGLE PLEASE! PLEEEAAASE!" Oscar waved his hand around trying to get Mrs. J's attention. " Sure! Come on up and give it a try." Said Mrs. J handing Oscar a marker.
At first Oscar drew a square. "No Oscar. That's a square. Do you need a little help?" "NO I"LL DO IT!" Oscar was sure he remembered what a triangle was so he tried again. Next he drew a rather a rather mishapen circle. "No Oscar that's not quite right either. One more try OK?" the teacher said. Finally on his last try Oscar drew a rather sloppy triangle.
"No, not quite like that! That was a very good try." Mrs. J said after taking the marker. The rest of math class went well. They learned all about triangles. They learned the three kinds of triangles. "Ok class quick quiz. Let's see what you've learned today." Mrs. J said as she passed out a piece of paper to each student. Oscar immediately started his test. He had really been listening and he was sure that he had learned a lot! When he finished his test it was time for art.
So far things had gone really well. Oscar hadn't caused any trouble but things got a little messy in art class!
