Oscar was lying in his usual spot on the striped rug under the coffee table waiting for his family to leave for school and work. He was so excited that he could barely keep his eyes closed and pretend to be asleep.
He stretched out a little more and let out a little snore as Madeline walked by. "All that dog does is sleep all day and all night too. I bet a new kitten or puppy wouldn't be so boring." Boring! thought Oscar. He'd show her! He couldn't wait to try out the new disguise he had ordered from Carl's Crazy Costumes online and to go on his first adventure. Mom looked down and shook her head. "Sometimes I do wander what he does when we are gone. Yesterday I know I turned the computer off when we left but when we got back it was gone again. Maybe he's using the computer." Mom laughed. Oscar waited until he heard the garage door go up and then back down again before he moved. "Yes! Yes! I can't wait! I can't wait! he yelled to no one in particular since nobody was there. Those learn English online classes had really paid off. That was the first step in his plan to make his life a little more interesting. Nope the dog's life was not for him...he wanted fame and adventure...and even more adventures!
